I get asked a lot by people, why I do what I do? What drives me as a wedding photographer and more importantly, why wedding?
The answer is quit simple. Someone once said; one must learn to feel before he can see! As a wedding photographer with clients from all walks of observant Jewish traditions I feel responsible to capture weddings with a deeper sensitivity for these varying customs.
It is an age old custom amongst the Ashkenazic community for both the parents and the Rabbeim (spiritual mentor) who helped raise the groom to bestow blessings moments before the groom walks down the isle.
In this instance, the groom couldn't help himself and was overtaken my genuine emotions when his father blessed him, wishing him a prosperous marriage and a long life with his bride. I am 100% convinced, his mom, watching them both was proud to the core to have raised a fine young man taking a responsible step towards building a Bais Neema B'Yisroel (a faithful and G-d fearing home) The box of tissues where there!Filename: _O1A3003-Edit.jpg.
